the house from the street has a well balanced facade. three materials dominate the design : corrugated metal, stucco and cedar siding. a simple butterfly roof form adorns the upper storey of the house. in order to keep the ground floor from reducing any window sizes on the upper floor and to ensure horizontal lines, a simple flat roof is incorporated over the ground floor, which also becomes the deck on the back of the house. the front door is located in an recessed alcove/porch area in the front facade, which is sheltered by the extension of the flat roof.

the dining room has a connection to the living room beyond. the nana-wall folding doors open to the backyard for a seamless connection from inside to the outside, which utilizes the land in a great way, making the yard a part of the whole livable space.

view of the stairs at the dining room looking toward the inside of the house. the main entry is just beyond the stairs. open riser stairs keep the space from feeling closed off and filter natural light and breezes through the house.

the giant kitchen in this house rocks! windows in the corner provide nice natural light and reduce the need for turning the lights on during the day. consistent wood species used throughout the mill-work for a cohesive look.

upstairs hallways with glass guards. once up the stairs a hallway leads to the three  bedrooms and bathrooms. window at the top landing provides soft northern light.

the ensuite bathroom features 1×1 tiles throughout.

the upper floor deck is connected to the hall and the master bedroom (door on the left). generous size offers ability to lounge out in the summer sun. with southern orientation and well-planned railing design, ensures excellent privacy while enjoying the outdoors. corrugated metal siding creates a very modern esthetic, and is a great material that will last a long time with minimal upkeep.

who doesn’t love an outdoor shower?

sit back at the patio on the south-eastern corner of the back yard, sip some champagne and enjoy looking at this architecturally wonderful house. perhaps a dip in the hot tub a little later?
